  • Hot Summer Nights

    5:00pm - 11:00pm

    Hot Summer Nights will take place from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. July 31, along Main Street in St. Charles. Hillbilly Authority will provide music starting at 6 p.m.

  • Girl Scouts dance event

    6:30pm - 9:30pm

    Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri invites girls in kindergarten through 12th grade to participate in a dance event from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sat., July 31 at multiple locations, including the Jewish Community Center  (2 Millstone Campus Drive in West County). The event is in celebration of National Dance Day, as proclaimed by Fox Television’s “So You Think You Can Dance” program. Participants will learn and dance the official National Dance Day dance routine at the event, as well as other styles of dance. There is no charge to participate; however, attendees must register in advance and no later than July 28.   • Big Truck Day

    Big Truck Day is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 8 at Kemp Auto Museum. Big trucks, cars and other vehicles are displayed on the museum’s Sachs Plaza. Admission to the display is free; museum admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Call 537-1718.1

  • Scenic, one-day cruise

    6:30am - 7:00pm

    O’Fallon’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering a scenic, one-day cruise with plenty of good food and live entertainment from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 23. The trip begins at 6:30 a.m. with a motor coach ride from Civic Park in O’Fallon to the Spirit of Peoria docked at the confluence of the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. The riverboat will head north up the Illinois River to the quaint village of Florence, Illinois. Sights along the way include historic Pere Marquette State Park, Pilot Peak, and majestic river bluffs with fall foliage. The motor coach will return to O’Fallon at 7 p.m. The cost of the trip is $170 for residents and $175 for non-residents, and includes transportation, passage aboard the Spirit of Peoria, entertainment, all meals and non-alcoholic beverages, an escort, taxes and gratuities.     A record number of teams have registered for the St. Louis Home Fires BBQ Bash taking place on Sat., Sept. 25 and Sun., Sept. 26 at the Town Center of Wildwood. Only 30 spaces remain, so those interested in registering should do so now. The event features amateurs and professionals competing for the grand prize in several categories, including ribs, brisket, chicken, chili, pork steak, People's Choice, crawfish eating, Best Decorated Booth, and more.
