The Priory soccer team won the recent St. Dominic Super Cup tournament, and Rebels Coach John Mohrmann said he hopes it will be a springboard for his club. Priory defeated Wentzville Holt to win the championship.

Last season we saw St. Dominic make its monumental run to the Missouri Class 2 soccer championship with a 2-1 win over Helias of Jefferson City in the state championship game. But in Class 3 action, we saw Francis Howell North win the District 11 tournament while Francis Howell Central won the District 12 title.

The St. Louis Lions Soccer Club has announced that former forward and franchise all-time leading scorer Tommy Heinemann has signed a professional contract with the Charleston Battery of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) First Division.

The St. Joseph's Academy Angels are on fire. The Angels started off the season winning their first six games. St. Joseph's has yet to allow a goal, as of West Newsmagazine press time.

It is hard to blame St. Joseph's Academy Coach Maureen McVey for looking forward to seeing her soccer team play this spring.

McVey has 19 players back from last year's squad that finished second in Class 2. St. Joseph's finished with a sparkling 20-3-1 record, including going undefeated at 5-0 in the Metro Women's Athletic Association.
