Curb your enthusiasm: addresses painted on curbs not recommended

St. Peters residents have reported solicitors are offering to paint house numbers on curbs, according to St. Peters City Hall.

The city does not recommend nor endorse painting address numbers on curbs in front of homes nor is the city affiliated with solicitors selling this service.

A statement issued by City Hall advises residents that emergency responders prefer house numbers to be placed on the front of homes, near the front door or above a garage door, clearly visible from the street.

Numbers painted on curbs are difficult to detect, can be blocked by vehicles and other obstacles, including snow and ice in winter.
